There are many reasons to pursue professional certification. Earning a certification credential is a voluntary activity, but it demonstrates you have the proper knowledge and skills, as well as a high level of dedication to your profession. It expands your knowledge base and validates your skills to appeal to potential employers.
The NCEA Certified credential is awarded to those who have met the advanced training standards equivalent to a Master Esthetician license. Attaining the National Esthetician Certification is the highest voluntary credential in the United States–raising the standards of our profession beyond entry-level licensure. The NCEA Certified credential signifies the value and credibility for consumers in determining the expertise and training of an Esthetician.
The best reasons to become a NCEA Certified Professional include showing dedication to being the best you can be, identifying and controlling risks to consumers, demonstrating knowledge and comprehension that enhances the learning experience, being better equipped to respond to changing industry demands and greater employment opportunities.
Professional certification offers Estheticians the opportunity to take pride in and be recognized for their skills and expertise- recognition that can stay with them forever. The demand for skilled Estheticians is real, and the opportunities are limitless.

“Getting my NCEA National Certification separates me from other licensed professionals. It has taken my career to a new level and increased my earnings potential dramatically. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to get NCEA Certified.” – L. Taylor, Austin, TX.
"When I found out that our profession had a National Esthetician Certification, I immediately wanted to get it! Just like lawyers, doctors and accountants, Estheticians now have the NCEA Certified credential and the Commission on Accreditation setting standards for continuing education. My clients understand what it means to be certified by our National Association. They know that I went above and beyond what my state license requires – WHY? Because I told them that the National Standard set by NCEA is competency-based on 1200-hours – that’s double what I received in school. I have both my NCEA Certified credential and my NCEA Membership certificate, proudly hanging in my reception area and I updated my website and social media."
